Best Settings for Video Playback on Nokia 5800 Xpress Music

Nokia 5800 as the multimedia phones makes you able to enjoy watching the video and music with it. The question is, how’s to do to convert that videos and what are the best setting used for. I have convert many videos into my phone, I found that most video files can play with this phone such as mp4, 3gp, rmvb and flv files. But of them plays well but some are not. After many tries, I finally got the best results for Nokia video files. My video in 5800 was full screen, high quality and sounds very well. Here are my settings:

Video Resolution: 480*320

Video Bitrate: 768 kbps

Audio Bitrate: 128 kbps

Video Format: MPEG-4 (be sure not to use H264, as it’s not supported in the current firmware)

Audio Format: MP3

Audio Channels: 2 Channels

You can apply these settings above in whatever application you used when converting videos into 5800. Then I am sure you will get full screen, high quality and flawless video in your phone.

Settings for video playback on Nokia N97, N95, N85 and other Nokia phones.

Nokia N97: Video playback formats are 3GP formats, Flash Video, H.264/AVC, MPEG-4; the video resolution is 640×360. Audio formats are AAC, M4A, MP3, WAV, WMA etc.

Nokia N96: video playback formats are 3GP, Flash video, H.264/AVC, MPEG-4, RealVideo, WMV 9; the video resolution is 320×240. Audio formats are AAC, MP3, WAV, WMA etc.

Nokia N95: video playback formats are MP4, 3GP. Video resolution is up to 640*480, audio format is AAC stereo.

Nokia N85: video playback formats are 3GP formats, Flash video, H.264/AVC, MPEG-4, and WMV. The resolution is 320×240. The audio formats are AAC, M4A, MP3, WAV and WMA etc.

OK, I will not list all settings of Nokia phones. If you are interested you may get more relative information on Nokia official website.

How to transfer video files into Nokia 5800

I have download some videos from video website such as Youtube, Google video. But I can’t watch these videos in my phone. Nokia 5800 can’t play such videos. I use Internet Tablet Video Converter to convert it, but it shows “Unsupported Video File Type”. Then I got to know Nidesoft Nokia Video Converter that seems professional for Nokia phone, I free download its trial version and tried it, and it works very well. Below are what I do:

1. Download this program from its official website: http://www.nidesoft.com/nokia-video-converter.html and install it.

2. Click Add button to add video files you want to convert from your computer

3. According to the settings I listed above, you may set size as 480*320, Crop Mode as Full Screen, video quality as 640 kbps, audio quality as 128 kbps; click Format drop list, you may select video format: Nokia 5800 Video MPEG-4

4. Click Convert button to start the conversion. After the conversion complete, you may watch these videos with Nokia 5800.

Options: you may get music from video follow this way. But pay attention to the format. As Nokia 5800 support mp3 audio format, you should select “MP3 – MPEG Layer-3 Audio (*.mp3)”.

How to convert DVD files into Nokia 5800

Obviously phones don’t have DVD drives, so to watch DVD on a phone you have to convert it into a video file on your PC then drag it into your phone. I also follow the above settings and convert DVD files into MPEG-4 video with Nidesoft DVD to Nokia Converter; the results are excellent. You may free download its trial version to try it in this way:

1. Insert your DVD into the DVD Drive. Click the Open DVD button, browse your computer, find the DVD folder of the movie, and open it. Select titles and chapters you want to convert, or select the whole movie.

2. Click Settings button, set your video resolution, bitrate, audio channels and audio bitrate.

3. Click Profile drop list to select “Nokia 5800 Video MPEG-4 (*.mp4)” format for your Nokia video.

4. Click Convert button to start the conversion. In few minutes the whole process will completed.

If you select audio format “MP3 – MPEG Layer-3 Audio (*.mp3)” you may also get music from DVD.

To transfer files into Nokia 5800

In the above tutorial I have explain you how to convert Nokia videos from DVD and other video files. Then you need to transfer these videos into your phone.

1. Make sure your computer and phone are both switched on. Also make sure your 5800 have a memory card in its slot.

2. Plug the small end of the microUSB cable into the phone’s USB socket, which s under a plastic flap in the top left corner.

3. Plug the larger end of the microUSB cable into a USB port on your computer.

4. On your 5800 it should ask which mode you wish to use. Choose “Mass Storage”.

5. Open the memory card window (probably called “Removable Disk E:”), drag your video files into the video folder.

6. After finished transfer files, do not disconnect the cable yet. You should make it safe to disconnect the cable. You may do this by click a small icon in the bottom right corner of the screen that appears when the phone is connected.

7. After you have made the device safe to remove, you can unplug the cable at both ends.

Some useful tips to make the Nokia 5800's battery last as long as possible

Sometimes you may have to stop talking with your friend or watching videos with your phone as low power of your battery. It is more inconvenient if you are in travel and have no alternative battery. Here are some tips to make your phone battery last as long as possible when using telephone.

Do not switch the phone off. As switching a phone on uses far more battery power than simply leaving the phone on.

Shut down unnecessary applications.

Turn down the 5800’s screen brightness to the lowest acceptable level.

Switch off your 5800’s screen when not in use.

Use headphones instead of speakers when listening to music or watching movies.

Avoid using the camera flash unnecessarily.

Use 2G instead of 3G.

Switch off Bluetooth and/or Wi-Fi.

Ok, I have typed out all my thoughts about Nokia 5800 here. Hope my tutorial is helpful to you. And all the other Nokia 5800 tutorials and useful how-to information should come here! It is welcome.

Creating Peace And Tranquility With Native American Flutes

Native American flutes are among the most favored Indian musical instruments of all time. I have always enjoyed Native flute music for its beautiful sound quality and ability to bring a tranquil calm to the environment where it is played.

Hearing Native flutes always bring back memories of my mother's kitchen where she often had flute music playing to create a tranquil environment in her home. The soothing flute music revives the soul and produces a calming affect on the spirit of all who listen.

If you take a look at the history of Indian musical instruments, you will see that along with the drum, the flute plays a meaningful role in the daily lives, ceremonies and cultures of many Indian people. Native American flute music takes you on a spiritual journey where generations look to their ancestors to lead them, and use their instruments to connect them with the Great Spirit.

Flutes of various kinds have been around for centuries and have been part of many Indigenous Tribes around the world. The study of flute instruments in history shows us that they did exist in ancient cultures.

The origin and design of the Native American flute is a little harder to trace due to the fact that North American Tribes did not have written languages. It wasn't until travelers documented their travels and findings, that record of the Native American flute is noted.

You can't take in the true worth of Native flute music until you see that society came close to destroying this incredible art with rigid assimilation rules. The 1900's brought with it tough rules for Native Americans that almost succeeded to suffocate their culture and people.

Along with many other Native Indian traditions, these rules strangled the advancement of Native flute music. It wasn't until the middle of the century that assimilation laws started to change and Native traditions were able to be practiced within the Tribe and in public once again.

Over time, the regard for the Native American flute grew to the point that flute makers began generating these instruments in large numbers to sell, and not just for personal use. The materials used to make the flutes also shifted from undeveloped crude instruments to more sophisticated, with the use of modern power tools and the ability to find different kinds of woods, plastics and metals.

These days, there are many options available when deciding on a Native style flute, and it is just a matter of personal preference. There are a few recommendations you should keep in mind though when choosing an instrument.

There are numerous types of flutes, but all have one of two different sound styles. The sound quality of the flute depends on whether it is a Plains style or a Woodlands style. A Plains style flute will produce a buzz type sound while a Woodlands style produces a bell tone.

No matter which sound style of flute you choose, it is essential to look over the quality and characteristics of that individual instrument, including the mouthpiece, size, shape and number of holes, in order to choose one that is right for you. Native American flutes also come in many different types of wood ranging from lavish, rather pricey woods, to basic pieces of pine, cane or bamboo.

Thanks to the widespread interest in flute music, you can conveniently buy Native American flutes online, in some music stores, and in decor shops that sell Indian musical instruments and southwestern home decorating accessories.

If you are searching for a simple instrument to learn to play, or are searching for real Indian musical instruments for playing in Indian powwows and ceremonies, consider keeping the beautiful customs and instruments of Indian people alive with the tranquil tones of Native American flutes.

The Mythical Sounds of the Pan Flute

The pan flute is an instrument that consists of ten or more pipes, which differ in length, that are closed tube. The tubes are placed in a row, from the longest tube to the shortest. Each length will then produce a different note, depending on its length. It is most often viewed as an old folk instrument and it is what preceded the harmonica and the pipe organ. It is believed that the different lengths of the tubes in the pan flute were the inspiration for the pipe organ. While original pan flutes were generally made from reed or bamboo, most pan flutes today are made out of metal, plastic and wood.

As the ends of the pan flute are stopped, the flute is not played by the musician blowing air directly into the tubes. Instead, the pan flute is played by the musician blowing air across the opening, much the same way as other flutes are played. While the instrument appears fairly simple in its design and limited in the sounds it can play, the musician playing the pan flute can actually play a wide range of musical notes that can make some pleasant music.

In fact, an experienced player can play both sharp and flat notes by tilting the flute a certain way and by how they blow the air across the mouth of each tube. Even more experienced musicians can have such a good handle on the pan flute that they can play a scale in any key and creating vibratos is little trouble for them as well.

While the pan flute has been around for a very long time, and it didn't appear to be overly popular in modern times, the pan flute really began to come back in the late 1900s, especially after a Gheorghe Zamfir, a Romanian musician, recorded many albums, toured and became well-known for his pan flute music.

Today, many people have chosen to play the pan flute and have continued to play for their love and enjoyment of the music and the instrument. In fact, there are other very well-known musicians who have used the pan flute in some of their music, including Aerosmith and The Beatles. It has also become quite popular in New Age music, perhaps for its light and soothing tone.

It might not be the first instrument that many will immediately choose when deciding on an instrument to play, though many who have heard the pan flute, and enjoy the genre it is typically played in, will choose the instrument. It can be a rewarding instrument to play and one that does not create a lot of noise when trying to practice at home. It is a quieter instrument, though its sound can attract attention because of its clear and soothing tone. It is a pleasant instrument to play, even if not for a career in music. There are many people out there who have chosen to learn the pan flute as a hobby because they enjoy the sound and they like to play on their free time for fun.

HTC Magic Review - The HTC Google G2 Phone is Just Magic

The HTC Google G2 Phone is the latest entrant into the android touch screen smart phone line up of HTC. As it is a “special” one: this phone has not yet been released in the United States, and has only a very limited release internationally, I have great interest of full disclosure to let you know this mobile phone. The HTC Google G2 Phone is known internationally as the HTC Magic, and it is a pretty snazzy phone.

Hardware

The HTC Magic smart phone Google G2 is enclosed in a cool white plastic case. It has a slightly protruding bottom that does not hinder the sleekness of its design in any way. A wide 3.2-inch touch screen sprawls on the face of the phone. The LCD TFT screen is vibrant and colorful with its high HVGA 320X480 pixel resolution. The screen attracts fingerprints but this is a commonly found blip in most touch screen phones in the market today. There is also a trackball for navigation. The absence of a physical QWERTY keyboard on this wholly touch screen operated phone has helped the phone knock off some of its weight and appear slimmer.

Software

The alluring wrapping of the HTC Magic is augmented by the android software platform that it uses as its brain. This software ensures fast and high performance of applications of the phone. The superior quality android operating system also allows you to add new applications and games to your HTC Magic smart phone through the android market by exploring options like ‘shopping’, ‘arcade’, ‘social’ and ‘travel’.

Android software in the mobile phone also implies more customization- users can tailor the handset to meet their specific needs by swapping the home screen, applications or even the dialer style. The Android software also lets you access third party applications and not just the core applications and data on the phone. This makes the HTC Magic more open.

The phone has integrations with Google applications. Google Talk, G mail, Google search, Google calendar are some of the applications accessible via the HTC Magic. Google Street view has been integrated with the phone’s mapping applications making it possible to view streets virtually to find out the way. The phone’s GPS facility supports efficacious working of maps.

Multimedia

The HTC Magic has a 3.2 Mega pixel auto focus enabled camera for the masterpiece photograph.. Its powerful video recording capabilities allows you to post videos directly on You Tube or share videos with friends via e-mail or MMS. It is capable of playing media files including videos and audio files. The video looks perfect with the 480x320 pixels screen and the music sounds beautiful. It supports only video formats like MP4 and 3GP which is slightly less when compared to the current standards of android mobiles. That’s doesn’t matter, third party software like Nidesoft DVD to Mobile Converter can convert DVD videos to HTC Magic video and Nidesoft Video Converter can convert all other formats video to HTC Magic video. It also supports rang of audio files including MP3, AAC, WMA, WAV and OGG, and the third party software can also be used for audio files.

Other interesting features:

The phone has high performance Internet mettle due to the presence of HSDPA with a speed of 7.2 Mbps and Wi Fi support. Fast downloads make your mobile Internet experience on the HTC Magic a joy. Stereo Blue tooth connectivity is also present in the phone.

The battery life of HTC G2 is much longer than HTC G1. The stand by time is 660 hours for WCDMA and 420 hours for GSM. The talk time is 400 minutes for WCDMA and 450 minutes for GSM. The 1340 mAh Lithium-ion battery is rechargeable.

Conclusion

Based on what I’ve seen, the HTC Magic seems like a really solid device. We like the Magic, maybe even love it a little bit. But it is a little disappointed at its price of about 6oo dollars, much higher than the new iPhone 3G S and the new Palm Pre.

Nightdancers’ Montana Crossings: Flute Music of Transformation

Whether it has to do with the philosophy of better living through habit, thought or magical action, things that are associated with "New Age" are theoretically supposed to have some basis in spirituality. Yet much of this spiritually is lightly rooted in the shallows of corporate productivity techniques or power-of-positive-thinking type truisms with some pseudo eastern promises for dressing.

Then there is the New Age philosophy that harkens back to something ancient, even primordial. This is especially visible in the music. So much of what is called New Age music is made from artificial ingredients, from canned sounds created by synthesizers tuned and programmed for maximum vapidity; and voices, always the voices, high and breathy with a thin, grating tone that someone somewhere decided signified the celestial. But there are musicians who create spiritual and contemplative music based in the traditions and sounds of antiquity, from nations and cultures with long shadows such as Africa, China, Japan and India.

Riding on this track is the group NightDancers, a duo consisting of flautists Gera Clark and John Sarantos, who perform original songs based on the folkloric styles of several Native American tribes. The music on their CD Montana Crossings is both ethereal and earthy, reflecting the unitary, all-is-one world view common to Native American cosmology. The songs are mostly built on simple three to seven note motifs that go through different permutations. The flutes - NightDancers plays twenty-five different kinds of these wooden, handcrafted instruments - blend together and dance, their music resonating in what sounds like a valley high up in the mountains or a cathedral (kudos to engineer Jim Anderson of AVATAR Studios in NYC). The effect of the music is meditative and dreamy. The music itself is never static or boring; in fact its intricacies reveal themselves with repeated listening. The titles evoke, perhaps invoke, aspects of the natural and supernatural worlds, which many indigenous tribes say are one and the same.

The song titles and how the pieces are composed and arranged reflect this thinking. Musically these pieces evoke the objects and ideas behind the titles as well. The opening track "Spirit Winds" starts with soft, breathy tones that rise from silence in unison. Then one flute states a simple theme that is answered by a counter melody from the other flute; they go back and forth, each musical voice getting time and space alone while connecting with the other. The title track starts with bursts of fluttery, echoing sounds, followed by a long-toned plaintive melody calling to mind Montana’s terrain of mountains and wide-open plains. One characteristic element of all the songs is how the flutes will hit consonant harmonies that ring out dramatically, and dissonant unison lines that buzz gently yet also sooth in an odd sort of way.

On "Butterfly Dance" the flutes play lines that gently glide like the butterfly itself, answering and echoing each other in way that suggests the "round" form found in European folk and classical music. On "Turtle and Bird," NightDancers take evocation literally. One flute moves in long-toned, deliberately paced turtle lines while the other play’s light riffs that flit and hop like our aviary brethren would. As the piece continues, the unitary theme comes through as the two flutes move together, conversing in similar voices that stills maintain their original animal character. "Elk Medicine" is a gentle wail of pleading and prayer and is one of the strongest tracks on the record. It is also an example of healing music. The opening cry is answered by melodies that create a sense of quietude and peace. And healing.

Ms. Clark and Mr. Sarantos take the healing aspects of their music literally. Clark, a RN, has been teaching people how to play the flute for meditation and stress relief. She also started New York City's Miracle House Flute Circle where she works with cancer patients using music for healing. Sarantos teaches flute workshops all over the country.

Montana Crossings creates music that is relaxing and interesting, that can be played either as background or as an immediately engaging listen.

Playing the flute is easy with Flute Lessons Singapore

How to select a flute instructor

Getting a flute instructor is a bit daunting, but having an idea of what qualities you want in a teacher, it can be an adventure to research and select a new teacher! If flute is your primary tool be positive to discover a flute master (teachers with several specialties—e.g. all the woodwinds—are often well suited to students of numerous instruments). There are available resources in the most remote geographic areas. But, just because an instructor lives next door, this may not be the best suit for your current flute needs.

Ahead of starting your exploration or making that first phone call:

Set  your plan Determine your commitment Assure your current playing stage Collect your favourite style of music

Here are some tips for finding a local teacher:

Contact your music institution. Inquire at local musical equipment shops. Ask help from your colleagues about their ideas. Religious musical organization may also help See Advertisements

Assessing if your chosen instructor has chosen really the best for you

Ask for references from student currently in flute schooling Does the teacher expose his/her students in contests? Does the instructor know about musical chances for students in the community e.g. community bands or orchestras?

A pupil that booms in a very structured learning environment may do better with a teacher hat provides the same lesson plans and practice assignments to all their students. Yet some teachers look to spark a passion for the flute by catering their direction around the musical interests of their pupils. Try to meet the student's learning manner with an instructor's teaching trend.

Suzuki method is described as learning music by ear instead of learning to read and play by musical notation. Beginner may quickly learn to play by hearing it using this method. However, one criticism of Suzuki way may develop a weakness in their power to read music. Therefore, if your student learns by this trend, I recommend they also learn to read sheet music at some point if they want to continue flute performance as a profession.

Just make sure that you talk to several teachers before you choose one. Don't get a teacher just because they are living in your neighborhood and it's favorable. Two years of bad instruction not only is a waste of money but if the pupil decides to get serious about playing the flute, they may find that they've picked up a lot of bad practices that would set them back several years. Please get a good teacher from the beginning!

The Hunchback Flute Player Named Kokopelli

Kokopelli, the little "hunch-back" flute player as commonly known to many, has been around for centuries. He is regarded as the universal symbol of fertility for all life, inclusive of hopes, dreams, crops and love and is often referred to as the fertility deity.

Some Native American Indian cultures, such as the Zuni and the Hopi tribes, view this fertility symbol and flute player as a God.

No matter if you live in the desert Southwest, live in another part of the country or perhaps have just visited Arizona, your chances of hearing about Kokopelli are quite good. This fertility deity icon God is seen just about everywhere. You will see his picture on countless items such as Native Indian pottery, automobile key-chains, glasses, t-shirts and other clothing, outdoor lights, various home decor, candles, and of course Indian jewelery and much more.

Many ancient petroglyph's and other Native American pieces of art have long depicted him.

Some people believe that he would announce his arrival to the locals, by playing a flute as he traveled through, looking for women to impregnate, which made him well known for the fertility symbol that he represented. Not only was he an excellent flutist, he was most definitely well known as an excellent lover, which was far more important to the ladies in the villages that he would frequent. And the story describes him as a ladies dream if a woman was lucky enough to meet him.

Ask around and you'll probably discover that his goal was simply to attract as many women as he possibly could, as he had one simple thing on his mind! Whenever he would arrive into a village, he would always be dancing and playing his flute not only his own heart's content, but also to his lady followers, that couldn't wait until he arrived into their village.

There are various meanings about what this humpback flute player really stands for or means. Some believe that he is carrying different items on his back in the pictures that are represented of this famous flute-player. One thing is for sure, though. You will always see Kokopelli with a humpback while playing his flute.

Kokopelli is known as the hunch back flute player and sometimes the deity flute player who, put mildly, had an infatuation for women. It was no secret that Kokopelli would do whatever he needed to do for him to have the opportunity to impregnate another woman.

If you want even more Kokopelli goods, you will definitely find your share of things to buy with his face and flute proudly displayed at any of the local swap meets, as referred to in Arizona. Other parts of the country may refer to swap meets as flea markets.)

Even many of the Arizona residents even can't seem to get enough of him. Kokopelli items are readily available. No matter what your imagination allows, you can probably find his icon on that item. You will also find Kokopelli on wine glasses, blankets, coffee cups, place mats and so many more things. Many have fallen in love with him, too, in a sense. There are many people who are anxious to see the latest of Kokopelli items with this hunch back flute player stamped on it.

Kokopelli was best known as the fertility God but he also stood for a prankster and healer and even a pretty good story teller.

This Southwest symbol has been a source of wonder throughout the country for centuries. This little fellow is a symbol of the Southwest and his legacy has been around for just as many centuries in the American Southwest. Kokopelli can be traced back well over 3,000 years ago. The first petroglyph's were carved that long ago which depict him which also include carvings of this hunch-backed flute-playing fertility God. In fact, you too, will be able to view these carvings for yourself in many areas throughout the desert Southwest.

You can easily find painted carvings that have been carved into rock walls and boulders throughout the desert Southwest.

Although his true origins are unknown, this traveling flute-playing Casanova is considered sacred to many Southwestern Native Americans Indians and always will be without question.

What Is Mkv And How To Convert Mkv To Mp4, Avi, Wmv, Mov, Mpg, 3Gp, Ipod, Zune, Psp Etc?

original from http://bestvideoconvertersoftware.blogspot.com/

Lately, a new format MKV emerged. More and more people start to use MKV. However, lots of people don't know what the MKV is. As seldom players can read it, people may face the problem that they can't use the MKV video. This thread here is to remedy that. I will show you what the MKV is on earth, and how to convert MKV to other popular video format so that your video can be widely used.

What is MKV?

MKV, also known as Matroska, is a multimedia container format. It is not a video or audio compression format. It is an envelope for which there can be many audio, video and subtitles streams, allowing the user to store a complete movie or CD in a single file. Matrosla has incorporates features that you would expect from a modern container format like fast seeking in the file, high error recovery, chapter entries, selectable subtitle streams, selectable audio streams, modularly extendable, streamable over internet (HTTP and RTP audio & video streams), Menus (like DVD's have). MKV is similar to AVI - it is another container format. But MKV is much newer, and can contain all kinds of stuff that doesn't fit into AVI. It also has numerous features that AVI lacks. There's also the difference that windows knows how to open the AVI "box" by itself, since the format was developed by Microsoft in the first place.
